Vasco: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday visited the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters in the state, where he reviewed ongoing maritime security and search and rescue operations.
During the visit, officials of the Indian Coast Guard briefed the Chief Minister on their role in safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests along the coastline. The presentation highlighted operational preparedness, surveillance systems, and response mechanisms to tackle emergencies at sea.
Interacting with officers and personnel, Sawant appreciated the coordination between the Coast Guard and state authorities, noting that such synergy strengthens coastal vigilance and ensures swift response during critical situations.
He commended the force for its dedication and professionalism in carrying out its duties and assured continued support from the state government towards capacity building and strengthening of the service.
The visit concluded with an overview of key activities undertaken by the Coast Guard in the Goa region.
