VASCO: “Goa First” NGO’s president Parshuram Sonurlekar alleges a big scam in the Mormugao Mamlatdar office allegedly involved issuing 15 years residential certificates to Non-Goans between 2014 to the 2017 year who have got government jobs.
Speaking to the reporters at Ravindra Bhavan Baina on Tuesday, Goa First NGOs Parshuram Sonurlekar pointed out that illicit activities are happening in the government offices. Citing some examples, Sonurlekar produced some RTI documents which showed that 15 years of Residential Certificates had been issued to non-Goans, and they have got the government jobs in the Electricity Department.
He further said that “when these non-Goans have not stayed for 15 years in Goa, how can they get 15 years Residential Certificate?” Sonurlekar also claimed that injustice has happened on the Goans in this matter. Sonurlekar has demanded an inquiry into this matter and strict action against those involved in this alleged scam. When questioned whether he complained about this issue to the authorities, he replied in the affirmative.
Meanwhile, when contacted, Mormugao Mamlatdar, in this regard, declined to comment and said that he had not received any such complaint so far.
