PONDA: Congress Mahila Wing President Sherli Dias, along with PMC Councillor William Aguiar, condemned the assault on Ladli Laxmi beneficiary victim Mobina Irfan Pirzade (28) by accused lady agent Suvarna Kapad and her two other relatives for demanding of fifty per cent commission amount of Ladli Laxmi scheme.
The Mahila Congress demanded that BJP Government stop agentgiri and corruption in Ladli Laxmi Scheme money and directly provide benefits to the ladli beneficiary account.
She said grabbing Rs 50,000 by an accused agent from poor ladies was a government failure and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
Dias said it appears BJP is producing agents in schemes. She showed the accused seen in photographs with BJP workers and, based on BJP support, accused them of acting as an agent. She said many women are coming forward complaining that they were cheated by accused Suvarna to get the benefit of the Ladli scheme.
Dias said the victim had paid the accused 20,000, and the accused insisted on another 30,000 as the commission amount.
The accused also grabbed Rs 30,000 from the victim’s sister, who is also Ladli Laxmi beneficiary; thus accused obtained already had Rs 50,000 from this family.
Dias further said the development yesterday evening was shameful.
The accused and her two women relatives also assaulted the victim by trespassing into her house. Along with the victim, her aged parents too were attacked. The victim’s head was bagged into the wall, due to which she was seriously injured and was hospitalised.
The seriously injured victim will have to undergo a CT scan at GMC tomorrow.
The victim had a six-month-old child, and as she was sick, she arrived at her mother’s house. She gave the accused Rs 20,000 some months back, but the accused constantly insisted on another 30,000 to get a fifty per cent commission of Ladli Laxmi scheme money.
Meanwhile, the Police registered an offence case against Suvarna and two other ladies; however, till late at night, no arrest was made.
