SANKHALI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that there is a need for giving stress on the National Education Policy (NEP).
Sawant was addressing the gathering on the occasion of the Shiksha Sankalp Programme of the Nipun Bharat Mission & Launch of the App to Register Pre Primary Schools at Sankhali.
“There is a need for giving stress on the National Education Policy (NEP). Goa will be the first state in India to implement the NEP from Pre-primary to Higher Education. We want to be a model state in the entire country,” said Sawant.
He further said that government will also build the necessary infrastructure needed at various levels.
“Government is fully ready to support. At a time it is not possible to create infrastructure everywhere,” he added.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said the new NEP is based on four pillars which are Access, Equity, Quality, and Accountability and sought cooperation from all for the successful implementation of the National Education Policy in the State.
Underscoring the role of the government in implementing various initiatives in the state of Goa, the Chief Minister said the Government has implemented several new educational policies to further improve the education system in the State.
Sawant said that NEP 2020 is a comprehensive policy framework that aims to reform and revitalize the education system in India.
He appealed to the stakeholders to provide constructive suggestions and feedback to further strengthen the policy. He added that implementing this policy is a combined effort of all stakeholders in the education sector.
