PANAJI: Street Providence Goa continued its Assam Flood Relief Mission on Monday, carrying out the second day of relief distribution in three flood-affected villages of Nazira Block in Assam’s Sivasagar district.
The organisation distributed 158 spades, 158 hand shovels, 158 metal baskets and 339 bundles of rope to flood-affected families to assist them in clearing debris, repairing damaged surroundings and rebuilding their homes.
According to the NGO, the relief materials were procured through donations received from supporters in Goa and elsewhere. The organisation said the tools are intended to help families begin rebuilding their lives after losing homes, belongings and livelihoods in the floods.
Street Providence Goa thanked its donors, volunteers and well-wishers for supporting the initiative, stating that their contributions had directly reached families in need.
The NGO said relief operations will continue over the coming days as volunteers travel to remote and severely affected villages across Assam. It has appealed for continued public support, saying additional donations would help provide food, shelter, hygiene supplies and other essential relief materials to more flood-affected families.
