VASCO: Verna police arrested an 18 yrs old Mohammed Junaid Hussain Shaikh from Cansaulim on charges of raping a minor girl.
According to Verna police, the mother of the victim girl filed a complaint late Tuesday night stating that the accused, Shaikh, had forcibly had sexual intercourse with her minor daughter in December and that the minor victim girl was 9 weeks pregnant.
Verna police have arrested the accused, Shaikh, under section 376 IPC and sections of the POSCO act and section 8 of the Goa Children Act.
Verna police are doing further investigation under the supervision of PI Diogo Gracias and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
