MAPUSA: Within hours of the news reports of five shops broken into by miscreants, the Mapusa police arrested a Bihari native in this connection.
According to police, accused person had broken open five shops early morning on December 19, 5 am hrs.
Acting on call given by public Mapusa Police immediately intercepted Chandan Das s/o Harindar Das, aged 21 years r/o Mapusa, Bardez, Goa n/o Bihar for committing theft and damaging the one beaty parlour and Hotel Shantadurga at Municipal market, Mapusa.
In this respect Mapusa Police Station registered FIR U/Sec. 457, 380, 427, 511 IPC .
Further, Chandan Das S/o Harindar Das , aged 21 years R/o Mapusa, Bardez Goa N/o Bihar immediately arrested and presently in
Police custody.
The stolen property i.e. electronic items with cash recovered at the instance of accused Chandan Das.
Investigation is in progress under supervision of PI Shitakant Nayak, DySP Jivba
Dalvi, SP North Nidhin Valson.
