PANAJI: DGP Goa Jaspal Singh IPS today said that he will formulate strategies which are corresponding to the prevention of crime in the state.
Jaspal Singh IPS, a 1996 batch officer, today took charge as Director-General of Police. He replaced DGP I D Shukla, who retired on March 31, 2022.
“As the days go, I will interact with the officers and the state’s crime and law and order dynamics. We will try to formulate a strategy which corresponds to the prevention of crime in the state,” said Singh after taking charge as DGP Goa.
He further said that it is a privilege to serve Goa Police as they have the highest professionalism and that the force is comparable to the best in the country.
“Goa is an iconic tourist destination but has its own challenges too; I, along with my team, will ensure to put the best foot forward,” he added.
Singh also informed that his team will formulate strategies to see that Goan roads are safe for local, other countrymen and international tourists,” he added.
Singh, who was serving as Special Commissioner of Police – Delhi, was promoted to the post of DGP Goa Police on March 29, 2022.
He has served as Inspector General of Goa Police from June 2017 to July 2020 before his transfer to Delhi on promotion. As per the order, Singh had to take charge as DGP Goa with effect from April 1, 2022.
