PANAJI: The Governor of Telangana, Dr Smt. Tamilisai Soundararajan Governor of Bihar, Rajendra V Arlekar, Governor of Goa, P S Sreedharan Pillai and Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Ramesh Tawadkar, will attend the “Jack Fruit Festival” organized by Raj Bhavan at New Durbar Hall at 12 noon on June 10, 2023.
On the 71 Birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Jackfruit garden was started by planting 71 AyurJack variety Saplings at the Raj Bhavan Goa campus.
Plants in this garden have started bearing the fruits 20 months from the planting date and ready to be harvested.
The Jackfruit has significance in our daily lives and is an integral part of the traditional menu of many homes in South India. Jackfruit plantation is also being undertaken by many Goans.
Different variety of Jackfruits that are available in the Surroundings will be displayed at the venue.
Prof Harilal Menon, Vice Chancellor of Goa University, will grace the occasion.
