PANAJI: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao today said that the State Function to commemorate Goa Revolution Day should be held at Lohia Maidan in Margao.
Alemao was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the state function to commemorate Goa Revolution Day.
“State Function to commemorate Goa Revolution Day should be held at Lohia Maidan, Margao, as it is the actual place where the revolution took place,” said Alemao
He further said he would speak to the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Governor of Goa P.S Sreedharan Pillai on this matter.
Alemao said it was shocking to hear the President of Goa Freedom Fighters Association, Gurudas Kunde, narrate Issues faced them.
“Pensions are delayed, No Jobs to many Children of Freedom Fighters till date,” he added
The LoP said that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, in his usual style, has assured to solve all the problems by next year.
“It is high time we respect our freedom fighters, and we will raise this issue in the coming assembly session,” Alemao said
