PANAJI: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho on Wednesday said the Goa government has begun introducing AI-based monitoring systems in village panchayats as part of a wider push to improve transparency, accountability and digital governance at the grassroots level.
The Minister said Artificial Intelligence-enabled attendance systems have already been implemented in panchayats to strengthen administrative discipline and ensure greater transparency in daily functioning.
Highlighting infrastructure development in rural local bodies, Godinho said 32 new Panchayat Ghars have been constructed and developed across the state. He added that the facilities would soon be upgraded with modern infrastructure and improved public service amenities.
He further stated that several reforms have been initiated in panchayat administration, including the expansion of online services aimed at reducing delays and making government services more accessible to villagers.
According to Godinho, the reforms are part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to modernise panchayat governance and improve efficiency in rural administration across Goa.
