Ponda: Temples are the foundation of Hindu Dharma. People get drawn to temples even in prevailing times due to the divine energy emanated by temples; therefore, it is the duty of Hindus to protect the sanctity of temples.
It is necessary to bring together temple trustees, priests and devotees to preserve the divinity of temples through performance of ritualistic worship in temples, conserving ancient temple culture and protection of traditions followed by temples.
Also, unity of Temple trustees is the need of the hour to re-establish temples ruined during the Portuguese regime.
In order to achieve all these objectives, the Gomantak Mandir Mahasangh and the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) have organised Goa State Mandir-Dharmik Sanstha Parishad at Mardol on 10th December between 10 am to 6 pm for the protection of temple culture. More than 600 temple trustees, priests, advocates fighting for the protection of temples, were invited in person, said Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson of HJS in a press conference held at Ponda today.
Jayesh Thali, Secretary of Gomantak Mandir Mahasangh and Shri. Satyavijay Naik, South Goa co-ordinator of HJS was also present at this time.
Ramesh Shinde further said that “The inaugural session of the Conference will be held at 10 am. On this occasion, the National Spokesperson of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Shri. Ramesh Shinde will address the subject of Importance of Unity in Temple trustees; Social media influencer, thinker and famous writer Mrs. Shefali Vaidya will provide guidance on the subject of Safeguarding Gomantak Temple Culture followed by Ajit Padmanabh who will give a talk on ‘Digital Temple Heritage Tourism’; Historian of Goa Shri. Rohit Phalgaonkar will deliver talk on ‘Facts of Ancient Temple Tradition and its Modern Acceptance’; Abhijit Sadhale will talk on the topic of ‘Temple Architecture: Preparedness while Building New Structures’. In the afternoon session, Shri. Balaji Shenvi will give a talk on ‘Department of Archaeology and the Temple: Resolution of Doubts’. Thereafter, a seminar will be held on the topic ‘Ideal Temple Management’ which will be attended by National Spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha Chetan Rajahans, Rajendra Desai of Sree VijayaDurga Temple of Keri, Ponda; Shri Machindra Chyari, State Level Head of Mandir Archak Purohit Section of VHP, Kirtankar Suhas Vaze and Shri. Jayesh Thali, Secretary of Gomantak Mandir Mahasangh.
This will be followed by a seminar on ‘Legal problems faced by Temple trustees and Solutions’ which will be attended by Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson of HJS, Advocate Santosh Rivankar and Advocate Shri. Suresh Rao.
Thereafter, the National Spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha, Chetan Rajhans will address the topic ‘Temples should be made centres of teachings of Dharma’; Sau. Shubha Sawant will address on ‘Dress Code for Devotees in the Temples’; Shyam Naik of VHP
will guide on ‘Rituals to be done on the occasion of the Murti Pratisthapana at Shree Ram Temple in Ayodhya’ and Jayesh Thali, Secretary of Gomantak Mandir Mahasangh will guide on Formation of Gomantak Mandir Mahasangh and its future.
