PANAJI: The Directorate of Transport, Government of Goa, has issued a public advisory urging motorists and the general public to verify their electronic traffic challans (e-challans) and make payments only through authorised government portals and applications.
The Directorate of Transport and Goa Police are issuing electronic challans for traffic violations across the state in accordance with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, and the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
Emphasising the importance of safe and secure transactions, the department has cautioned citizens against accessing fraudulent websites and unverified payment links. Motorists have been advised to check their challan status and complete payments exclusively through official government platforms to avoid falling victim to online fraud.
For e-challan verification and payment, citizens can access the national portal at https://echallan.parivahan.nic.in or https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in. The Goa-specific portal, https://echallan.goatransport.gov.in, is also available for the purpose. Citizens can additionally visit https://gova.goa.gov.in for various state government services.
For assistance, motorists can contact the national e-challan helpline at 0120-4925505 or write to the Goa e-challan support email at support@goaechallan.com.
The department has also provided dedicated helpline numbers for motorists in both districts. Citizens in South Goa can contact 6364184282 or 8147085763, while those in North Goa can reach out to 9972909702 or 9972909581.
For further assistance, the Goa Government helplines are 1600013039 and 18003099020. Citizens can also receive Goa e-challan WhatsApp broadcasts by contacting +91 99026 73257.
The public notice, issued by Arvind B. Khutkar, Director of Transport, Government of Goa, urges citizens to exercise caution while dealing with traffic e-challans and rely only on verified government channels for challan verification and payment.
