PANAJI: Goa has a registered green footprint of 11.826 billion square feet, according to Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane, and more than 13,840 projects have embraced the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) rating systems.
On Thursday, the TCP Board met at Altinho with the chief town planner and other attendees.
According to Rane, the board and IGBC officials had a fruitful discussion about the industry’s efforts to lower its carbon footprint by implementing sustainable practices and green solutions.
“The objective of the TCP department is to position Goa as a national leader in sustainable development on a global scale,” he stated.
“The minister stated that the council provides a plethora of experience and expertise to our joint efforts in further improving buildings and the built environment in the state.”
TCP and IGBC have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to take advantage of this knowledge.
“The department hopes to increase prospects for sustainable development in collaboration with IGBC, guaranteeing a more environmentally friendly future and better buildings for people. Goa will be firmly established in the nation’s green and net-zero carbon movement thanks to our combined efforts.
The minister declared, “The TCP department is dedicated to improving the state’s biodiversity and quality of life.
