Panaji: The State government has issued a notification extending validity of documents related to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 upto 31/12/2020.
The order issued by Director Transport Rajan Satardekar says, “All public are hereby informed that validity of Fitness, Permit (all types), License, Registration or any other concerned document(s) related with motor vehicles whose extension of validity could not or not likely be granted due to lock-down and which had expired since 1st of February, 2020 or would expire by 31st December, 2020, are treated to be valid till 31st of December, 2020.”
It further says “Communication under number RT-11036/35/2020-MVL is issued by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India dated 24th August, 2020 taking into consideration grim situation still continuing due to spread of COVID-19 and need of containment of spread of disease.”
