VERNA: Minister for Archives and Archeology Subhash Phaldessai today said that steps are being taken to identify sites over 100 years old across Goa in order to preserve and protect them.
“Steps are being taken to identify sites over 100 years old so that we can protect them and preserve them under the archaeological department,” said Minister Phaldesai.
He further said that the government has sought representations from the public identifying these and also petitioning for restoration.
Minister said that Citizens/NGOs/Associations had been requested to submit their statements related to the destruction of historical or religious sites by Portuguese or Portuguese rule.
“We have advertised in newspapers. We have asked Citizens/NGOs/Associations have been requested to submit their statements related to the destruction of historical or religious sites by Portuguese or Portuguese rule,” said Phaldessai.
