PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today announced that his government will lay emphasis on the importance of new and upgraded technology in disaster management.
Sawant also informed that his government will go a step ahead and try to purchase advanced upgraded technology for the same.

He further appreciated the efforts of the Fire and Safety Personnels during the Cyclone and floods which happened in the state in last year.
Chief Minister also paid floral tributes to Firemen who lost their lives in the service of the people.
National Fire Service Day commemorates the 71 Fire Service personnel who lost their lives during an unfortunate and massive explosion at Mumbai dockyard on April 14, 1944.
On this day, everyone gives tribute to all those brave firefighters. The government of India also honours fearless firefighters on NFS day who have done extraordinary work in their service.
This year the theme of the National Fire Service Day is “Learn Fire Safety, Increase Productivity”.
