PANAJI: A Goa Pradesh Youth Congress (GPYC) delegation led by President Adv. Archit Naik met the Director General of Police (DGP) on Sunday, demanding a fair and time-bound investigation into the alleged custodial assault of youths in the Maina-Curtorim case and the recent youth suicide case in Mapusa.
The delegation expressed concern over reports of custodial violence against youths, including a minor, and urged police authorities to ensure accountability and strict action against those found responsible.
GPYC leaders also sought a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Mapusa youth suicide case, calling for all possible angles to be examined to ensure justice for the victim and his family.
The delegation included Adv. Amit Palekar, Dr. Pratiksha Khalap, Samil Volvoikar, Moreno Rebello, Chirag Naik, Naushad Chowdhary and Mahesh Mhambrey.
Reiterating its commitment to protecting the rights of young people, the Youth Congress said public confidence in law enforcement depends on transparency, accountability and prompt action. The delegation urged authorities to act swiftly and ensure justice without fear or favour.
