PANAJI: The Goa State Pollution Control(GSPCB) has started the process of developing a Digital Portal and Dashboard for Noise Monitoring in the state.
GSPCB has sought bids from eligible parties for the work. The application will be deployed on the empanelled cloud server of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY).
The solution is expected to collect data from noise monitoring devices installed across the state in real-time and reflect it on the dashboard of web-based applications and mobile apps, along with GPS locations.
In addition, the application is expected to provide a dashboard for easy representation in map display, graphical presentation and viewing of summary in statistical form on large screen displays. The platform should be robust and be able to handle more than 1000 users per second, states the tender document.
The pollution board has installed online real time noise monitoring equipment along 12 beach locations in North and South Goa.
In the North, the equipment is installed at Morjim, Ashvem, Mandrem, Arambol, Candolim, Calangute, Baga and Anjuna beaches and on Colva, Cavelossim, Benaulim, and Agonda beaches in the South.
Considering that the beach stretches of Morjim and Mandrem are notified as a silent zone, the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has already imposed a complete ban on beach parties at these two stretches.
An online environmental data monitoring centre has been established at the GSPCB head office for real-time monitoring of the data from these 12 locations.
