PANAJI: The Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawnat, is gung-ho about Goa achieving 100 per cent Har Ghar Jal but his comments are far from reality.
Forget the Opposition; the BJP-ruled constituencies in North Goa, like Calangute and Saligao itself, are not getting any water supply.
On Wednesday, the Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, who is also the vice-chairman of GSIDC, met teh Public Works Department (PWD) CE over the water shortage issue.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the MLA said he came to meet PWD CE with the issue of water supply.
“Saligao is at the tail-end, and hence Pilerne, Nirla and Reis Magos do not get adequate water supply,” he said.
Naik said the Village panchayat and panch members are supplying water through tankers, but this cannot continue forever.
“PWD CE has assured us everything will be sorted out within a couple of days,” he said.
He said yesterday they met WRD officials who assured us to restore raw water pipelines.
“The main issue is due to raw water pipeline burst, and once that is repaired, things should be sorted out,” he says.
