PANAJI: The Goa High Court has upheld the decision of the Thivim Communidade to allot land to the MIIT Group of Institutions for setting up an educational institute.
The court dismissed a petition filed by certain members of the Communidade who had opposed the allotment, claiming that the land was sold at a low price and caused a financial loss to the Communidade.
The ruling affirms the Communidade’s authority to decide on land transactions and paves the way for the establishment of the educational institute by MIIT Group.
The petitioners had argued that the sale undervalued the property, but the court found no merit in their claims, allowing the allotment to proceed as per the Communidade’s resolution.
The decision is expected to expedite the development of the new educational facility in Thivim, which is seen as a boost to local educational infrastructure.
