CANACONA: While government may be still in the process to gauge the demand of taking action against a group of people confronting octogenarian and well-known writer, poet, historian Uday Bhembre, Canacona police already have not one, but three groups filing complaints demanding registration of an FIR under relevant sections against Uday Bhembre.
Alleging historian Uday Bhembre has problem with Maratha Shivaji’s Samraj, Marathi Language, Marathi Sahi, Shiv-Sahi and Marathi Sanskruti, Hindhvi Swaraj Sanghatna (HSS) has filed a complaint with Canacona Police against the octogenarian for his alleged deregoratory utterances against Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj on Tuesday.
HSS has demanded that the government should investigate whatever the claims made by Uday Bhembre against the Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj, such Bhembre’s claims of Shivaji’s atrocities on women amongst other claims.
The HSS in their complaint against Uday Bhembre, resident of Margao for using derogatory statements and damaging the image of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on social media and committing offence U/s 299, 302 and 356 of BNS , 2023. And reiterated it’s demand to take strict action against Uday Bhembre under the relevant sections of the law to prevent further circulation of such content and to ensure that no one misuses their platform to spread false and disrespectful narratives about the historical heroes.
While the HSS complaint is signed by Dilkush Shet Desai, Samrat Bhagat, Kiran Naikgaunkar, Vaibhav Fal Desai, Laxman Shet, Babesh Borkar, Sidharth Desai, Sidharth Chari, were present amongst others while submitting the complaint to Canacona Police Station PSI Babu Desai.
Incidentally, another group by the name of Shivsmarak Cultural and Sports Club, Chaudi, alleging they too have filed police complaint against Uday Bhenbre for Offensive Remarks on Shivaji Maharaj, has circulated the draft complaint over social media asking all Shivpremis to join them to file the complaint with Canacona police. Nandeep Bhagat, Sudarshan Desai and Dilip filing a complaint with Canacona Police Inspector Harish Raut Desai, were joined by Prashant Desai, Anandu Desai, Pujar Bhikar, Satish Gosavi, Hemant Naik Gaunkar,Suraj Naik Gaunkar, Dhiraj Naik Gaunkar, Meghna Desai, Govind Desai , Nandu Pagi, Santosh Komarpant, Pankaj
Naik Gavkar, Achiket Desai, Prasik Desai and others were present.
The draft complaint addressed to PI Canacona,, Shivsmarak Cultural and Sports Club the highly inappropriate, illogical and disrespectful statements made by Uday Bhembre against Shivajai Maharaj have hurt the sentiments of Shiv premi(Devotees and followers of Shivaji Maharaj) and requested that appropriate and strict action be taken against Bhembre for his misconduct and he publicly retract his statements.
