PANAJI: Goa Police have fined a group of tourists from Hyderabad, Telangana, for consuming liquor in a public space at Miramar.
The Police fined Rs 10,000 on charges of consuming liquor in a public place and littering the stretch of road with leftovers.
The tourists had arrived in a tourist bus, which was parked at Miramar.
Sources said the tourists were also made to clear the garbage.
The Goa government has recently introduced very heavy fines for littering at tourist spots, driving and cooking on beaches, unauthorised ticketing, touting etc, under the provisions of the Goa Tourist Places (Protection and. Maintenance) Act.
