India vs Bangladesh 1st Test Live Score: Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a solid half-century but India lost three wickets in the second session to slip to 176/6 when tea was taken on Day 1 of the first Test in Chennai. Jaiswal made 56 before departing while Hasan Mahmud has picked up four wickets so far. He struck early after the lunch break to take his fourth scalp in Rishabh Pant who was out caught behind on 39. Jaiswal and Pant added 62 runs for the fourth wicket to help India recover from three early blows.
India lost captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli to Hasan under an overcast sky. The hosts made a cautious start and Rohit was lucky to be not dismissed even earlier thanks to the umpire’s call after Bangladesh reviewed a not out LBW decision. He then scored a boundary but didn’t last long before making his way back to the dressing room. Gill and Kohli then were both out caught behind leaving the hosts in trouble.

Pacer Hasan Mahmud tore through the Indian top order with a three-wicket haul as Bangladesh reduced the hosts to 88 for three at lunch on the opening day of the first Test of the two-match series in Chennai on Thursday. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (37) and Rishabh Pant (33) were at the crease when lunch was taken, and they have so far added 54 runs for the fourth wicket, steering India to much calmer shores.
India are batting first against Bangladesh in Chennai in the first Test today. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bowl first and is leading a confident unit that is eyeing more history. Rohit Sharma, the India skipper, wanted to bowl first too and expects the conditions to be challenging but adds his team has had a good preparation for this contest. This is India’s fourth series of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship Cycle.
