CANACONA: Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari, recently appointed as In-charge of the NSUI and Youth Congress, convened a meeting of the Canacona Congress Parivar and its frontal organisations on Monday to strengthen the party’s organisational structure ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
The meeting brought together representatives of the Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, Bal Congress and various departments and cells of the party with the objective of reconstituting committees at the block, booth and frontal organisation levels to strengthen the Congress at the grassroots.
Chairing the meeting, Bhandari, who is also the former Congress candidate from Canacona, outlined strategies to enhance public outreach, expand the party’s organisational network and ensure preparedness for the Assembly elections whenever they are announced.
Participants also held detailed discussions on several public issues affecting the constituency, including roads, electricity, water supply, healthcare and hospital services, education, the functioning of the municipality, market-related concerns and the quality of civic works.
The meeting also focused on issues concerning farmers, fishermen, OBCs, minorities, Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and the Dhangar community. Members discussed plans to organise sports events, cultural programmes, plantation drives and other community outreach activities to strengthen the party’s engagement with the public.
