PANAJI: Pooja Naik has been charged with defrauding people by offering them government jobs in two further incidents.
In one instance, Priya Mandrekar of Porvorim complained to the Porvorim police that she had been dishonestly and fraudulently persuaded to transfer Rs 4 lakh to the bank account of Ajit and Anisha Satarkar, both of whom resided in Priol-Mardol, by Rupa, also known as Puja Naik of Old Goa, under the false pretense of offering her a government job.
Mandrekar asserted that somewhere between November 20, 2021, and December 12, 2021, the accused had deceived her at Porvorim.
Mandrekar said that on several occasions, she had moved the money into the bank accounts of the defendants Ajit and Anisha Satarkar using her husband’s bank account. Nevertheless, the accused failed to fulfill their pledge to offer her a position with the government and failed to reimburse the complainant for the money.
Police Sub Inspector Mayur Sawant is looking into the crime that Porvorim police have reported.
According to similar allegations of defrauding someone under the guise of offering a government employment, Bicholim police filed a formal complaint against Pooja Naik.
