PONDA: Road digging on Kavlem road to clear choked gutter has become a death trap for locals and commuters.
The Locals of Kavlem, including Panchmember Yogesh Kavlekar, had demanded with PWD and the local panchayat to clear the choked gutter and restore the road dug near the gutter at the earliest.
It may be recalled that some locals have released domestic wastewater into roadside stormwater gutter due to which the cross drain culvert has been choked, and water is accumulated in the gutter to clear the gutter; some people have dug a road near gutter where now huge crater has been developed.
This huge pothole has become a problem for locals, causing traffic congestion and a death trap on narrow roads for the local motorist as being tourist places where several vehicles flow.
The bikers, while giving side likely to fall into a pothole and may lead to fatal death.
During the Navaratri celebration, the huge pothole caused locals a lot of hardship, leading to traffic jams. Locals requested to clear the choked gutter and also restore the road dug at the spot.
