PONDA: A fight between two labourers resulted in the death of one at Usgao. It is learnt that one labourer caused injuries to another on a petty issue, due to which he succumbed to injuries.
Police are waiting for the postmortem reports to know the exact cause of death to register an offence.
Police, in this case, took custody of the accused labourer.
The Ponda police are investigating the suspicious death of labourer Rajan Saha (native of Bihar, age 35), who was working at Mushroom Manufacturing Company at Usgao.
According to the information received from Police, Rajan Saha was working in a mushroom factory in Usgaon. Other migrant worker groups also worked in this factory, and we resided in a common room near the factory.
On Saturday night, Rajan was injured by another labourer after a fight erupted on a petty issue and was sent to PHC Pilem Usgao Tisk. As the injury was severe, he was later shifted to GMC for further treatment.
On Sunday evening, the labourer came from GMC to his factory room in Usgaon. On Monday morning( today), when he felt unwell, he was again brought to Pillay Tisk for treatment, where he was declared dead.
Ponda police have sent the body for postmortem. Murder or suspicious death will be clarified after the postmortem report, said Police officials. Ponda police have detained a labourer, Chuman Kumar, as a suspect. Further investigation is being conducted by Ponda police.
