SALIGAO: A 23-year-old labourer died after reportedly suffering an electric shock in Saligao on Saturday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Lamani, a native of Karnataka who was residing in Saligao.
According to available information, Lamani allegedly came into contact with an electric source and sustained injuries. He was immediately rushed to Asilo Hospital for medical treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.
Following the incident, personnel from Saligao Police Station visited the spot and initiated the necessary legal and procedural formalities.
The body has been sent to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police have registered the case and further investigation is in progress.
