PANAJI: The infighting between two BJP Ministers- Mauvin Godinho and Michael Lobo has come to the fore, with the latter referring his senior to ‘rancid pickle’.
Today, Lobo took on Godinho over digital meter installation and garbage treatment at Dabolim in a press conference.
The Ports Minister said that it is very difficult for the taxi operators to pay Rs 11,500 to install meters in the current pandemic.
He said that if the government fails to relax on payment of digital meters to taxi operators, the issue will affect BJP in the upcoming elections.
He said that the taxi operators will take a call within a week to make payment for installing meters.
Lobo recalled how Transport Minister had moved a file to give 50 per cent rebate to car showroom owners is tied over pandemic. He urged CM Dr Pramod Sawant to provide a similar relaxation to the taxi operators as promised.
Indirectly calling Godinho a rancid pickle, Lobo cited the statement of former CM late Manohar Parrikar.
Further, Lobo informed that nearly one lakh cubic meter waste at the Sada garbage treatment plant has been treated, out of which 2000 cubic meter waste was from Dabolim.
“A self-proclaimed leader from Dabolim and who is also the senior minister failed on resolving garbage issue in his constituency,” he said, referring to Godinho.
On Wednesday Godinhoa had asked Lobo not to interfere in his department and mind his own Waste Management portfolio.
