AERIAL VIEW
Faleiro, one of the most experienced members of the Goa Legislative Assembly, knew this was a marriage of convenience. He knew this would end abruptly, yet he decided to quit Congress in 2021 and join TMC.
He quit Congress and joined the TMC due to his selfishness and greed for power. But that seemed to have boomeranged now.
They say you get what you sow, and thus Trinamool kicked him out when they found he had nuisance value.
Luizinho deserved no sympathy here, despite the Congress giving him everything – CM’s post, party president, AICC in charge, etc. He betrayed the party repeatedly.

Finally, the former Chief Minister of Goa, Luizinho Faleiro, who had divorced his earlier Party Indian National Congress, ahead of the 2022 Assembly Polls to join the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Party, has broken all his ties with TMC after resigning as the Rajya Sabha member and also primary membership of the Bengal-based Party.
Mamata Banerjee had offered Luizinho Faleiro a Rajya Sabha ticket to quit Congress and join the TMC. He was also made TMC vice president.
Faleiro took oath as a Rajya Sabha member on November 29, 2021, after he was elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed in a by-poll.
However, all was not well between Luizinho Faleiro and the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Goemkarponn was first to break the story in September 2022 when the officials from the Party confirmed that Faleiro had been asked to resign from the post of Rajya Sabha MP within six months.
Even more shocking was that TMC did not even allow Luizinho Faleiro to use the office space at TMC Goa Headquarters in Panaji to address any press conferences.
The Party’s brass, including Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, was upset with Faleiro since he refused to contest the 2022 assembly election from Fatorda against GFP’s Vijai Sardesai.
Sources have confirmed to Goemkarponn that the Party has asked him to resign in six months. However, Faleiro had said he would wait for CM Mamata Banerjee to tell him to resign personally.

At a time when he should have hung his boots, Faleiro wanted to lead the state, and that is how he betrayed Congress in 2017.
As was being made out in some press section, Luizinho Faleiro is no saint; he played the victim card only to gain sympathy.
He was neither ignored nor harassed nor ignored in Congress, but due to his sheer selfishness, Congress lost a chance to form the government in 2017.
While Faleiro said that he rejected the offer to be Leader of the Opposition in 2017, he did not tell the press that his greed to become the chief minister in 2017 delayed the Party’s decision to stake claim to form the government.
As the Congress party president then, Faleiro fought Navelim polls and won, but he wanted to be the next CM. As we all know, Congress had more Chief Ministers than MLAs.
