MAINA: Maina Curtorim Police conducted a narcotics raid at an open place behind the Royal Enfield showroom at Arlem, Raia, Salcete, on August 31, 2026, resulting in the seizure of 270 grams of charas worth approximately ₹1.5 lakh.
Police registered an offence under Maina Curtorim PS Crime No. 62/2026 under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The accused was identified as Fairoz Dafedar, son of Fakruddin Dafedar, aged 40, a resident of MES Vasco.
During the raid, police allegedly found Dafedar in possession of the narcotic substance along with other articles. A Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire car was also seized under a duly conducted search and seizure panchnama.
The accused was arrested and is presently in police custody. Further investigation is in progress.
