SATTARI: A man was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting money from members of the public in an open area opposite Bhumika Temple at Paryem, Sattari, during a police action on 02 June 2026.
According to a state complaint lodged by HC Shankar Gawas (B.No. 5488), the raid was conducted at around 12:45 hrs, during which the accused Gokuldas Rane, 45, resident of Tamdgi, Paryem, Sattari, was allegedly found accepting money from the public in connection with gambling activity.
Police said the accused was apprehended on the spot and cash amounting to ₹2,220 in various denominations was seized along with other gambling-related articles.
The operation was carried out opposite Bhumika Temple, Paryem, following which a case has been registered.
Further investigation is being carried out by the investigating officer HC Shankar Gawas of Valpoi Police Station. Authorities said action is being taken as per law and the probe is in progress.
