CALANGUTE: Calangute Police arrested a 32-year-old man after he was allegedly found in possession of over a kilogram of ganja during a narcotics raid near the Sinquerim helipad.
According to a state complaint filed by PSI Snehal Malik, the raid was conducted on November 19, 2025, between 10 pm and 11:45 pm.
During the operation, police searched the backpack of the accused, Ajay Giri, a native of Baleswar, Odisha, and reportedly recovered 1,401 grams of greenish leafy substance with flowering and fruiting tops, suspected to be ganja.
The seized contraband is valued at approximately ₹1.4 lakh. Further investigation is underway.
