CANAOCNA – Mandovi Parivar, Canacona deafeated Mega Boys, Poinguinim to clinch the maker Mans Trophy.
The tournament was organised by Makermans Sports & Cultural Club at Painguinim, Canacona. In which altogether 16 teams from Canacona Taluka participated and fought for the honours.
The final match was played of two innings between Mandovi Boys and Mega Boys. After winning the toss, Mega Boys decided to Bat first and in the first 5 overs scored 57runs by loosing 2wkts. In reply, Mandovi boys scored 110 runs in 5 overs by loosing a lone wicket.
In the 2nd inning Mega boys scored 61 runs in 5 overs. Mandovi boys reached the target in 2 overs again loosing a single wicket and won the final match and the trournament.
The winners were awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 30000/- and trophy while the Runners-up pocketed Rs. 20000/- and trophy.
For prize distribution function, Dr. Vikas Pawaskar, a renowned and well-khown doctor and social worker was the chief guest. Also present were Ex-Sarpanch (Loliem-Polem) Bhushan Prabhugaonkar, teachers Dilkush Shet and Pandhari Satarkar, Panch Ashutosh Bandekar and panch, Smt. Supriya Pagi.
Arun Bhat president of the club welcomed the guest and gathering, Anil Kamat compared the function and proposed vote of thanks.
Individual prize winners were Man of the match Final- Lewis Barretto, Mandovi Boys, Best Batsman – Deepak Bhagat, Mega boys, Best Bowler – Pasha Gaonkar, Dominator Boys, Man of the tournament – Lewis Barretto, Mandovi boys.
