MANDREM: A 45-year-old housewife from Madhalamaz, Mandrem, has lodged a complaint alleging that she and her 17-year-old minor son were assaulted and threatened following a property dispute.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred at around 5 pm on August 23 at a house in Madhalamaz. The complainant alleged that five identified accused persons—Suchita Mhamal, her brother Mangesh Chodankar of Tar-Siolim, Kishori and her husband Kishor of Siolim, and Manisha Harmalkar of Madhalamaz—along with two unidentified women and an unidentified man, formed an unlawful assembly and allegedly trespassed into the house.
The accused allegedly abused the complainant using filthy language and assaulted her with slaps, causing injuries. Her mobile handset was also allegedly damaged, resulting in a loss of around ₹20,000.
The complainant further alleged that her 17-year-old son was surrounded and assaulted with slaps and fist blows, causing him injuries. The accused allegedly threatened both the complainant and her son with dire consequences, including threats to kill them.
The complainant also alleged that she and her minor son were wrongfully confined by being locked inside a room.
The complaint was lodged at around 11.55 pm on August 23. Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Sonali Harmalkar.
