Sanquelim: A 70-year-old man was injured in a hit-and-run accident involving a minor riding a scooter at Gokulwadi, Sanquelim.
According to Bicholim Police, the accident occurred on July 16 around 12:30 pm near Bangalore Bakery, close to National Bar and Restaurant. A juvenile girl, reportedly the minor daughter of Rafiq Allam Khan (42), a resident of Muzawarwada, Sanquelim, was riding a scooter (Ntorq GA-04-N-7891) without a valid driving licence.
Police said the minor was proceeding from Vasantnagar towards Gokulwadi in a rash and negligent manner and rammed her scooter into a motorcycle (GA-04-A-7306) from behind. The motorcycle rider, Ramakant Vaman Chari (70), a resident of Parye, Sattari, sustained injuries on his right leg.
Following the incident, the minor fled the scene without offering help or informing the police.
The matter is being investigated under Bicholim Police Station Motor Vehicle Accident case No. 54/2025. Head Constable Ladu Madhukar Gawas is conducting the investigation.
