SATTARI: Dr. Deviya Rane, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Poriem, has issued a strong statement criticising a meeting scheduled for May 25, which she claims is a politically motivated attempt to stir unrest in the Sattari region.
The meeting, reportedly called to address concerns surrounding unauthorised homes on government land, has drawn criticism from Rane, who described the initiative as an effort to “create confusion and unrest” within the otherwise “peaceful and close-knit” community.
“These actions are driven by divisive political agendas and seek to mislead the people of Sattari,” said Dr. Rane. “We stand firmly by every family in the region and remain committed to safeguarding the rights and interests of all residents. No form of injustice will be tolerated.”
She further urged the public to refrain from engaging with misinformation and to remain united in pursuit of the region’s welfare. Rane reaffirmed her allegiance to constructive initiatives and reiterated her party’s commitment to the community.
“With the unwavering support of the Bharatiya Janata Party, we will continue serving every citizen of Sattari with dedication, integrity, and compassion,” she added.
The statement comes amid growing discourse around land ownership issues in rural parts of Goa, which have become politically sensitive ahead of upcoming local body elections.
