TALEIGAO: A mobile phone snatching case has been registered after an unknown man allegedly snatched a mobile phone from a pedestrian near Taleigao Church on August 21.
According to the complaint filed by Ganga Ram Kumar, a resident of Durgawadi, Taleigao, the incident occurred at around 6.05 pm while he was walking towards his rented room. An unknown male, allegedly riding a black Aprilia scooter with orange alloy wheels, reportedly snatched his pink-coloured OPPO K12 mobile phone, valued at around ₹15,000, from his right hand and fled from the spot.
The complainant described the accused as thin-built and wearing a black hoodie jacket bearing the word “PUMA” with an orange and yellow logo on the front.
An offence under Section 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered.
Police arrested Mohammad Sharif Mulla, a resident of Indira Nagar, Chimbel, at around 5.26 am on August 23 in connection with the case.
Further investigation is being conducted by HC 5108 Samir Naik.
