CORTALIM: A motorcyclist and a pedestrian sustained grievous injuries in a road accident at Kesarval, Cortalim, on August 16, 2026.
According to the complaint filed by HC Sudesh Kumar Desai of Verna Police Station, the accident occurred around 6.15 pm when accused rider Aniket Deore, a resident of Cortalim and native of Dhule, Maharashtra, was travelling on his Pulsar motorcycle from Titan Junction, Verna, towards Panaji.
Police said that upon reaching Kesarval, Cortalim, Deore allegedly rode the motorcycle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a pedestrian, identified as Ajay Kumar, a native of Uttar Pradesh, who was crossing the road.
Following the impact, Ajay Kumar fell onto the tar road and sustained grievous injuries. The motorcycle rider also fell along with the vehicle and suffered grievous injuries.
Further investigation is being conducted by HC 5767 Sudesh Kumar Desai of Verna Police Station.
