SANVORDEM: Curchorem Police have registered a case against the driver of an Ashok Leyland truck for allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner, resulting in a road accident that left a motorcyclist injured.
According to police, the case was registered based on a complaint filed by Head Constable Shrikant Velip of Curchorem Police Station. The incident occurred on June 26 at around 12.40 pm while the truck was travelling from Ambeaudak towards Guddemol in Sanvordem.
Police said the accused, identified as Basappa Hirehal, a resident of Gadag, Karnataka, allegedly drove the truck recklessly and collided with an oncoming Royal Enfield motorcycle.
As a result of the impact, the motorcycle rider, Delroy Fernandes, a resident of Ambeaudak, Sanvordem, fell onto the road along with his motorcycle and sustained injuries.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out by Head Constable Shrikant Velip of Curchorem Police Station.
