CURTORIM: Maina Curtorim Police have registered a case against a WagonR driver following a road accident near Ruchi Gold Godown at Gandhi Road, Sonsodo, in which a motorcyclist sustained injuries.
According to a complaint filed by ASI Anant Gaonkar of Maina Curtorim Police Station, the accident occurred at around 1.30 pm on July 19, 2026. Police alleged that the accused driver, identified as Marlindo Rebelo, a resident of Gina, Maina, was driving his WagonR car in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Sonsodo towards Maina.
During the journey, the driver allegedly attempted to overtake another vehicle near Ruchi Gold Godown and collided with an oncoming KTM motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle, Ramesh Malik, a resident of Kargil, Maina, Salcete, sustained injuries in the collision.
Maina Curtorim Police have registered a case, and further investigation is being carried out by ASI Anant Gaonkar.
