MUMBAI: The Anti-Extortion Unit of the Mumbai Police has arrested two Goa residents in connection with an alleged extortion case involving a demand for money from The House of Abhinandan Lodha over its One Goa housing project at Karapur in Bicholim, Goa.
The case was registered at N. M. Joshi Marg Police Station under Crime No. 110/2026. According to the complaint, the accused allegedly demanded money from the real estate company and threatened to disrupt the housing project if their demands were not met.
Police allege that the accused also forcibly took approximately ₹41 lakh from the company in connection with the extortion demand.
The arrested accused have been identified as Siddhesh Tari and Pritesh Salgaonkar, both residents of Goa.
According to the available information, the two were arrested in Dodamarg, Maharashtra, during the course of the investigation.
The arrests come amid ongoing controversy surrounding the One Goa project at Karapur, with the latest action adding a new dimension to the dispute.
Further investigation into the alleged extortion and the circumstances surrounding the payment of ₹41 lakh is underway.
