The Goa Traffic cell stated that the road was okay, but the truck driver drove in a rash and negligent manner.
The report has been sent to CM for approval.
However, one has to see what action the CM takes on the contractor. In the past, the CM has not shied away from suspending the contractors or the department engineers for sub-standard works.
The locals had been raising their voices against the bad quality of work and supervision for months now, but their appeals fell on deaf ears. Lives are easily lost in this dangerous incident – who is responsible for those lives?
Goemkarponn has raised the MVR’s sub-standard quality works time and again.
MVR is notorious for its shoddy work in Goa, which has been substandard to the point of collapse, delayed for years, and in some cases, simply abandoned after creating major issues.

The fatal accident at Torshem in Pernem and the killing of the mother-daughter duo is yet another example of shoddy work of the four-landing of the highway from Patradevi to Karaswada by the government’s favourite contractor, MVR.
What is more shocking is that the authorities trying to give a clean chit to the contractor for the hap-hazard works.

Goemkarponn has raised the MVR’s sub-standard quality works time and again.
MVR is notorious for its shoddy work in Goa, which has been substandard to the point of collapse, delayed for years, and in some cases, simply abandoned after creating major issues.
Interestingly, Goemkarponn understands that MVR does not have the technical background or expertise to handle such large projects and uses sub-contractors to finish smaller portions of work while enjoying the profit margin of the entire contract.
Here are the listed problems with many of MVR’s projects in Goa which demonstrate that MVR is a habitual offender and needs to be blacklisted immediately.
    – Curti-Khandekar highway pipeline collapse leading to Tiswadi water crisis.
    – Gaundalim Bridge with major flaws and repeated closures for repairs.
    – Miramar-Donapaula concrete road disaster.
    – Donapaula jetty collapse.
    – Kala Academy jetty collapsed.
    – Flyover at Chimbel on Old Goa bypass abandoned after foundation problems.
    – South Goa collectorate building was abandoned.
    – Dabolim grade separator delayed and substandard work.
    – Cavellosim-Assolna bridge was delayed yet opened while incomplete.
    – Loutolim-Cortalim link road wall defects.
AAP has lamented that not only has no action been taken, but the BJP Govt continues to grant more works to MVR. Signapurkar demanded that all works of MVR be stopped immediately and investigated for quality by private consultants, and also that engineers of PWD who have abdicated their responsibility of supervision be held liable and suspended for dereliction or duty.
The BJP, which came into power riding on the back of an anti-corruption wave against the Congress, appears to have perfected the art of corruption and doesn’t seem likely to stop even if the lives of Goans are lost in the process.

Chief Minister has ordered an inquiry into the repairs of the Sankhali-Chorla ghat road section, which was recently taken up at the cost of Rs 11.86 crores.
CM’s swift action came within days of him visiting the neighbouring Belgavi city in Karnataka. During his visit, he must have encountered the same problems of potholes that the common man faces despite paying huge taxes in the form of road tax etc. In one day’s visit, he understood the plight of the common man.
He also ordered a fact-finding inquiry into any lapses in other road contracts and submitted a report in 45 days. We wish to remind him that all such roads which are in bad shape are done by their pet contractor – the BJP’s son-in-law M Venkata Rao.
Now, who will BELL this cat… M Venkat Rao, a close relative of BJP top leader?
The road stretch from Pernem to Karaswada by MVR is in a pathetic State and uneven, with flyovers and roads dug up after laying concrete as it started developing cracks even before the inauguration.
