PANAJI: Nature and Human beings are correlated to each other, said Governor of Goa Sreedharan Pillai on his visit to Chorao Island today along with his wife, Smt Rita S Pillai.
Governor expressed his happiness over his visit to Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and said that the Forest Department and Government of Goa are doing their best to protect the island, nature and propagation; they are doing the maximum for conserving nature.
Governor also informed that Raj Bhavan will soon be publishing three books, namely Heritage Trees of Goa, VamanVriksha Kala Udyyan” and Heavenly Islands of Goa.
As Goa is considered a tourist hub, this book will give more information to the tourist, he added.
Shri Premendra Shet, Mayem, MLA, who accompanied Governor for his visit, said that the initiative of the government is to develop hinterland tourism in Mayem which will attract more tourists to his constituency.
Governor also took a boat ride on the river through the mangroves. Governor also visited Shri Devkikrishna Bhumika Mallinath Devasthan and sought blessing, followed by his visit to St Bartholomew’s Church and Christ Ray Cross at Chorao.
M. R. M Rao, IAS, Secretary to Governor, Mihir Vardhan, IAS, Former Secretary to Governor, Anand Jhadav and other officials were also present.
