PANAJI: Forests Minister Vishwajit Rane said that new ecotourism projects are underway, offering tree houses and rustic tents.
“I am thrilled to announce that exciting new ecotourism projects are underway, offering treehouses, rustic tents, and much more for an unforgettable experience. Let’s connect with nature responsibly,” said Rane.
He further said that Goa’s wildlife-protected areas are renowned for their unique landscapes and rich biodiversity.
“Explore these undiscovered gems within Goa’s wildlife-protected zones,” he added.
The Minister said that the forest department will foster public awareness and education on conservation of natural resources while promoting eco-tourism in the state.
The Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC) has planned to create a hinterland circuit in the Sattari taluka to promote ecotourism and generate employment for the villagers.
In August 2022, GFDC chairman Deviya Rane, who is also the Poriem MLA, had along with the officials visited Surla-Sada hill and surrounding villages of the taluka in an attempt to explore potentials of hinterland and ecotourism.
The Corporation has proposed a hinterland circuit that stipulates overnight stay in cottages, visit to waterfalls and water rafting.
