ST CRUZ: In a shocking development ahead of Lok Sabha polls, no Confidence motion moved against St Cruz Sarpanch Jeniffer de Oliveira and Deputy Elson Braganza by a group of 6 panch members.
The motion comes as a setback to Congress-led panel after Independent panch member Inacio Pereira withdraws the support accusing the ruling group of failing to following up the issue of construction of new panchayat ghar.
Pereira said that Sarpanch has failed to take me into confidence when necessary decisions are taken for the Village and the the current ruling panchayat body has no vision or will in taking up developmental works for the village of Santa Cruz and many files are pending before Government department for last 10 months which are not followed up.
“The construction of new panchayat and community hall building issue is not been followed up with the Government,” said Inacio
He also said that it appears that the current ruling panchayat body is not willing to work for the betterment of its people or allow me to work for the betterment of people.
“I feel this is injustices to my voters and villagers of Santa Cruz hence I withdraw my support,” he added
