PONDA: The Ponda Constituency comprises PMC and Curti Panchayat. Last year Panchayat Election was held, and MGP backed panel ruling panel came in ruling at Curti Khandepar Panchayat.
Finally, with a no-confidence motion notice against Sarpanch, the BJP is likely to bloom Lotus on Curti Khandepar Panchayat.
One MGP-backed Panchmember changed sides towards BJP, following which six out of eleven Panchmember brought a confidence motion against MGP-backed Sarpanch Naved Tehsildar, and notice was submitted to Ponda BDO.
The six Panchmembers who brought a no-confidence motion said they were not taken into confidence while conducting development works. They will now bring development work with the support of Ponda MLA and Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik.
This move surprised the Curti Khandepar locals. Locals said the play musical Chair once again began at Curti Khandepar after fresh Elections were held last year. During the previous five-year tenure Curti Khandepar Panchayat had made a record of changing Sarpanch around eight times, and locals feel that Panchayat is heading towards the same direction.
Some locals welcomed the move stating that there was no timely action on illegal activities they have pointed out, while some locals unhappy with the instability in Panchayat. They said the Panchmembers should focus on solving various problems instead of playing musical chairs.
Meanwhile, the six panch member who signed a no-confidence motion includes Abijeet Gaude, Harish Naik, Wilma Pareira, Manish Naik, Sajida Amjad Sayed and Sanjana Naik.
