PANAJI: The North Goa District Mineral Foundation Trust (NGDMFT), in collaboration with the Directorate of Education, organised a one-day training programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Sankhali, to equip teachers from aided schools with the skills to effectively use STEM Lab equipment, Smart Boards and ICT facilities.
The initiative is aimed at maximising the use of STEM Labs and Smart Classrooms established by NGDMFT in 10 government schools across the mining-affected regions of North Goa. The project, implemented at a cost of ₹2.35 crore, seeks to promote experiential and technology-enabled learning among students.
As part of the initiative, aided schools have also been encouraged to borrow STEM Lab kits from nearby government schools, enabling more students to benefit from hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.
The training sessions were conducted by experts from Qurious Mind, New Dimension and Globus Smart Boards, who demonstrated practical ways of integrating STEM tools, Smart Boards and ICT resources into classroom teaching to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
