Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said the State government is working to integrate connectivity from villages to industrial estates and improve rural-urban transport links in a bid to reduce road congestion, traffic issues, and accidents.
“Goa has the highest population-to-vehicle ratio in the country, which is a major cause of accidents. On average, one person dies in a road accident every day in the State,” Dr Sawant stated.

He also announced that the newly introduced traffic police vehicles will be equipped with advanced technology capable of detecting various traffic violations, particularly overspeeding. “Traffic police personnel will also be provided with body cameras to record incidents and ensure greater transparency in enforcement,” he said.
Dr Sawant urged locals to drive responsibly and follow traffic rules, warning that fines for violations will be delivered directly to offenders’ homes.
